Databases

Our Philosophy
Database-driven solutions are the best way to effectively manage your business. A carefully crafted database provides storage, data retrieval, and ease of analysis. Pearl Communication’s engineers have many years of experience in the design, optimization, scalability and security requirements for multi-platform solutions. We have expert capabilities with Windows, Linux, and web applications driven by Firebird, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL database engines.
Our Mission
Since 1989 Pearl has provided database design, development and marketing services of new and existing systems. In addition to programming skills, we have a core competency in the tire industry. As the exclusive marketing and licensing representative for TGP Solutions™, we have extensive experience developing solutions for tire manufacturers and resellers. We have also created, enhanced, updated and maintained large database distribution systems using state-of-the-art cloud-based solutions.
Our Range
Our team of developers has experience with a variety of different database types and structures. We specialize in custom database development in the following areas: Customer Relations Management (CRM), e-commerce, directories, training, testing procedures, content management systems (CMS), and many more. We also have extensive experience in modifying databases to meet changing needs as well as integrating databases systems with other databases and applications. If you desire assistance in marketing and licensing your data/databases, we can assist you with that as well.
Our Method
You will be involved in the database development every step of the way using our eight-step process:
  • Database Requirements Analysis
Our experienced database designers will assist you in deciding which type of database to use by interviewing user groups and determining the type of data, the frequency of operations, and the proper environmental fit.

  • Specification Development
A detailed description of the database required is constructed by evaluating every individual data element. The careful analysis and choice of the proper data element definitions is critical to the final design and maximization of efficiency.

  • Architecture Design
The foundation of an effective database is the relationship of each data element, its residency within a table, and the efficiency of producing results. By addressing these design elements, a level of flexibility, and speed of operations is achieved.

  • Coding
Logic code is created to provide views and procedures that will allow ease of functionality.

  • Quality Testing
Each part of the code is thoroughly tested to minimize logic failures. Beta test participants review the functionality to ensure all facets operate as intended.

  • Documentation
A thorough user manual is produced, including source code documentation.

  • Software Training
Users are provided the necessary training. Users review the documentation to ensure that it meets all their needs.

  • Maintenance
Maintenance and enhancements to handle new problems or new requirements is part of the continuing support for the project.
